Written during my 7 Month pilgrimage through Southeast Asia…
My travels through Asia have certainly brought me a greater awareness to the global shift in consciousness that has been in motion since the 1960’s. This shift into the future of our world is a consciousness revolution. It dwarfs all previous and current revolutions, including the Industrial Revolution, which brought massive social and technological changes. Today’s information revolution, made possible by computers and telecommunications, is transforming the face of society at an even more dizzying rate, including the most poverty stricken countries. However, these changes pale in significance when compared with the consciousness revolution, which is transforming our very perception of the nature of the universe.
Although seeing all the magnificent sites like Angkor Wat and Borobudur have had an impact on me, I would have to say the greatest impact has been witnessing this transformation of consciousness in every country I’ve visited. It is apparent that this global change is creating a world of cooperation instead of competition; a world from fear to a world of love; a world of freedom.
If you are reading this Blog, than there is a very good chance that you are already witnessing the change in your own life. Studies show that about 25% of Americans have moved into the heart space living of this revolution. Individuals are searching for higher purpose or meaning; living a life of service, conscious of how your thoughts and actions affect the whole instead of just yourself. A life lived from the heart (feeling what to do) instead of the head (what you “should” do).
Abraham Maslow (1908-70), as you probably know, was a psychologist who became famous for his hierarchy of human needs. I have done some research on his works and found that when he developed his theory in the 1950s, he actually predicted the transformation of humanity into a realm of spiritual transcendence, but he had no idea just how soon this would develop into a major movement. This sudden shift towards transcendence occurred in the mid-1960s and has never looked back.
But why now? Why should society be rushing headlong into a New Reality of awareness at this particular point in history? The book that I recently read called “The Shift” by Owen Waters shed some light for me on this topic. He states, and I summarize, that the sudden awakening of holistic, spiritual thought in the 1960s affected the younger generation of that era. Those who were impressed and changed by, for example, the Summer of Love in the year 1967 will be at the peak of their economic and political influence by the year 2010. They will, by then, be the Elders of society, the wise ones that younger generations look to for guidance when things go wrong.
If society is ready to start moving in mass into The Shift after the year 2010, you have to wonder what cosmic events might be in synchronicity with such timing. Could there be some grand, cosmic event about to occur? How about an imminent event which occurs just once every 26,000 years? Would that pique your curiosity?
According to Owens, the ancient Mayan civilization existed up until 830 A.D., when they suddenly disappeared from their cities, leaving no traces behind as to where they may have moved. Despite an apparent lack of precision instruments, the astronomical knowledge of the Mayan culture exceeded today’s level of knowledge in many ways. They not only knew the precise orbits of the planets in our solar system, but also the orbits of the stars in our galaxy. They had even cataloged major cosmic events going back more than 400 million years. The Mayan calendars are masterpieces which illustrate the repeating time-spirals of cosmic cycles within cycles within cycles.
The Mayans spoke of a major galactic synchronization which is due to occur in the very near future, on December 21st, 2012. just 3 years away! This date marks the end of a 26,000 year cycle of a style of human experience, as well as the end of many more sub-cycles, all in synchronicity with each other. On December 21st, 2012, when the Mayan calendar again resets to zero, a new 26,000 year cycle begins.
Just think… when future generations look back on our current era, will they see the year 2012 as the pivotal point within The Shift? Could the year 2012 mark a turning point where the old type of humanity, Homo-sapiens (“knowing man”), shifts into wholeness as this new consciousness begins to reach popularity? Will this shift be seen, in retrospect, as a new phase of human evolution, a kind of “Homo-holisticus”?
One thing that is certain at this point is that The Shift is a real phenomenon and, as the studies demonstrate, it is happening today. The Shift is not a temporary by-product of the baby boom generation or of any other generation in modern society. It is not a passing fad and it is not going away. The Shift is the result of a cosmic cycle which is unfolding and, slowly but steadily, increasing the frequency of all consciousness upon the planet. The Shift is, to put it simply, the most wonderful transformation in recorded history. This is where humanity gets to build, literally, Heaven on Earth.
We are all in the process of transforming the darkness on this planet to light, and in turn, creating heaven on Earth. We, you and I, are all beacons of this light. Pure love/God energy is who we all are. As more and more of us recognize this as truth, our light gets brighter. And as you turn up the lights the darkness begins to fade. If you think about it darkness is simply the absence of light; hate the absence of love. So, to state it bluntly, our only work to save this planet is to awaken to this new truth and emanate our light out into the world. (See technique for doing this below)
When asked how Michelangelo created David, he stated that it already existed within the marble. He just carved away the excess. The perfect you is not to be created. It is already within you. We just need to remove the excess marble. Of all the lessons I’ve learned during my travels, the one common denominator of every peaceful and truly joyful person I’ve met, is that they connected with this Source (God, Love, Light) everyday. From those that were dirt poor, literally living without floors in their homes, to individuals living lives of wealth, spiritual connectedness was their key.
Everything is energy! Love is the highest of all energies. When we take time to connect with this higher vibration, we begin to attract heath, joy, peace, kindness, compassion and true richness into our lives. Just this awareness is enough. Be gentle with yourself. Our lives are unfolding perfectly as is everything in the universe. We simply need surrender to this truth (remove the excess) and all else will evolve naturally.
Namaste.
Technique to heal the world (humanity):
Start each day in meditation. Set the intention of the meditation for enlightenment and world peace.
On every in-breath, imagine white light from the Cosmos entering your crown chakra, above the head, and traveling down your spine to the level of your heart, then traveling forward into your heart chakra, just in front of your breastbone.
At the same time, see white light from the Earth entering the base of your spine and traveling up the spine, then forward, to merge with the cosmic energy in the heart chakra.
The energies of the Cosmos and the Earth will fuse together and cause an energetic reaction at the frequency of the heart chakra. This fusion forms a ball of energetic white light in the heart chakra.
With every out-breath, send the power of this energetic reaction out to the world. Direct it as a beam of white light from your heart chakra, out into the world.
Continue this in-breath, out-breath cycle for at least five minutes each morning and you will not only help heal the world, you will change your entire day for the better.
After your meditation, spend as much time as necessary in gratitude for everything in your life. Send this energy out with the beam of white light from your heart chakra. And that’s it!
The universe reflects who you are. When you practice healing the world, by automatic reflection, you heal who you are. Any and all issues which have been challenging for you will move closer towards resolution as you help the world in this way.
There’s nothing like starting your day helping to heal the world in these critical days of transformation. It’s one of those things that brightens your day and makes you feel good to be alive!

This blog was amazing. I learned so much from it! I’m going to start this meditation tomorrow morning. I love the idea of putting out my own positive energy into the world and starting my day that way. Thanks.
