After I posted the blog, The Spiritual Path, I received a few responses that lead me to believe that many were left wondering, “what is the spiritual path and what does it take to live it?” For that reason… Part 2.
In order to fully understand what I am referring to here, we must first accept the fact that we are Spiritual Beings having a Human experience. With this being said, this means that we have a spiritual essence and a human essence.
Since the beginning, Man has been slowly evolving; moving from the animalistic, caveman existence of fight of flight (fear) to a move evolved way of being of love. But if we look around at the world of today, you can see why I emphasize slowly. Humans, as whole, continue to emulate their animal companions rather than consciously choose to evolve to higher ways of existence.
Choosing the Spiritual Path does not mean you have to sell all of your goods, live in an ashram, do yoga and eat bean sprouts for the rest of your life. It does not mean you have to be something you are not. It simply means you are making the decision to consciously act more in alignment with you’re the truth of who you are; a Spiritual Being. We are having a human experience, but we can choose to not to act out of our animal emotions and instead choose love in every situation; Spiritual Love (unconditional) rather than Human Love (conditional). Until now, many believed this was reserved for only the spiritual (enlightened) masters. It is available to all of us right now. We can all choose to operate from a place of oneness, and in turn, increase the amount of joy, peace, abundance and love in our lives. This is the Spiritual Path.
We are living in an exciting yet, challenging time for many. Because of the rapid expansion of the Consciousness Revolution, maybe for the first time in history, we can all take an active role our evolutionary process. Making this decision will dramatically ease the effect of the chaos (transformation) the World is going through now and in the coming years. As The Course in Miracles states, “we can either choose love or fear.” Choosing to walk the Spiritual Path means examining the intentions behind all of our actions and being completely, 100% honest with ourself. Are your actions in alignment what you have been “told” is right or wrong or in which you “know” deep within your heart, is the highest, most loving action to take? Most of our lives we have been told what is “right” and what is “wrong,” but the spiritual path is choosing to look instead within; to the place that knows that the only action to ever take is that of unconditional love toward our self and others as we are all one.
The Spiritual Path means working on ourselves to heal those parts of us that keep the illusion of separateness alive within us. Recognizing the Maya (illusion) is the first step, the next is healing the conditioning of our dualistic, rational thinking minds. It is not our fault that we operate in the world of conditional love as it is what we have been taught, but we must take responsibility to move ourselves back to Spiritual Love if we are to evolve. We must learn to accept and love ourselves and others for who we are, not for what we do. This is what it means to walk the Spiritual Path.
Namaste.
