Types

There is much confusion about what constitutes a fast and what the difference is between a fast and a cleanse.  Both of these terms have been used interchangeably and for good reasons.  Fasting is simply a rest from food for the purpose of restoring your health through the cleansing of your body.  A true fast is a complete removal of all food, drinking only water, which may be considered the “ultimate cleanse.” Cleansing on the other hand is anything that cleanses the body.  Cleanses can be anything from eating only raw fruits/veggies to drinking fresh juice.  So whether you call “juicing” a fast or a cleanse, in my opinion, it really doesn’t matter.

The Fasting Path will design a fast/cleanse that is appropriate for you, depending on your lifestyle, current health, goals/intention, commitment level and deisre.  We will educate you and on the different types that may work best for you and then you are free to decide.  Fasting is the most ancient and natural of health remedies.  However, many people are finding partial or modified fast much more realistic with their current lifestyle.

Some of the options may include, but are not limited to:

  • 5 day High fiber cleanse - very gentle but effective - consisting of shakes and fruits and veggies - Great for fist timers.
  • A Mono-diet - eating one type of food - a favorite of macrobiotic followers
  • The Master Cleanse - drinking “lemonade” made from lemons, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. - A powerful fast done for 10 - 40 days.
  • The internal/Colon cleansing kit - for the removal of parasites - a combination of herbs designed to improve digestion and remove old waste.
  • Raw food Cleanse - eating only organic, raw foods for a specified period of time.
  • Juice fast - combinations of fresh juices using fruits and veggies designed to detoxify and rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit.
  • Water fast - the drinking of “charged water.”
