Build your ARK

Personal and global transformations are unfolding faster than ever before. Goal setting and future planning?  As someone once said, “We make plans and God laughs at us” has never been more accurate for many.  But if we can prepare ourselves, sailing into the unknown can be a peaceful and even an enjoyable ride.

Someone once shared with me, Noah knowing of the impending floods, was instructed to build an Ark so he could move with them… not a dam to try and stop them.  An interesting  teaching.  Many are feeling called  to build or upgrade their Arks (vessels) to find balance within the energies  upon us.

This shift is all around us.  For the many attempting to build dams, the change can be, well… challenging.  But for those with an Ark that is solid?… I see times of flow, grace and ease.  But how do we allow for this shift when the world around us seems so chaotic?  When many are struggling to just keep their heads above water?   As the surface of the ocean becomes more disturbed, we can sink beneath it, down deep, to the center of our being, to hear the answers.

I know that if I personally do not take time to quiet and focus my mind often, I can lose my center and get washed away into a sea of mental noise.  When I return to the west, I am astounded at how the energy there can affect my peace of mind. Bill Harris, in his highly recommended book, “Thresholds of the Mind”, states, “Everyone has a threshold for what and how much they can handle coming at them from the world. When that threshold is exceeded, we attempt to deal with being pushed over it with a variety of coping mechanisms, including anxiety, anger, depression, overwhelm, sadness, substance abuse, and many others.”

To stay ahead of the increasingly demanding energies, we can raise our threshold higher or upgrade our Ark! This is similar to a runner who begins with a certain physical threshold, but incrementally raises it by running every day until a distance that would have overwhelmed him in the beginning becomes easy, effortless and in his flow.

Cleansing our vessel (body, mind and emotions) is the one of the ways to raise our threshold and stay centered and in the flow.  A daily meditation practice can purify our mind and train it to go beyond the noise and return over and over again to this present moment.  Eating higher vibrational foods and regular periods of fasting can cleanse our bodies and keep them vital and strong.  And healing our pasts can release the emotional baggage that  often weighs us down and can make it difficult to move and adapt.

What one thing could have a profound impact on your life today?

Based on my experience, a regular meditation practice has had one of the most profound effects on my reality.   Everything begins in the mind.  Learning to relax and focus the mind, connecting with our center, release and let go of limiting and negative thoughts and filling it with vibrations that we wish to experience and emanate out into the world can bring about the rapid expansion of consciousness.

My experience of combining  technology and meditation has been interesting, in a very powerful way.  I feel like it can advance our practice, considering we even contemplate actually “advancing” our practice.  Just as innovation has enabled us to advance physically, I personally enjoy using technology to assist me in cultivating peace of mind as well.  Meditation programs like HolosyncBrainsync and other companies using brainwave entrainment are advancing and adapting meditation practices for the changing times.  I have been using both, Brainsync and Holosync for over 8 years now, and even though at times I like to just sit in silence, I find the using the brainwave MP3?s enables me to “drop in” faster and often very deep.

I know creating time to sit and just “be” can be difficult.  For me, it has helped me balance the demands of my once busy “doing” lifestyle.  Meditation can slow our lives down, enable us to stay centered and respond to situations as opposed to reacting to them as if on autopilot.  It can bring us into the NOW and provide us with the space to listen to the deeper messages of our soul.  And, the quieter the  mind,  the more we can tune into the perfect compass of our intuition.

Today’s transformation is teaching us how to live in the present moment, unattached and open to change.  Its pushing us let go of old erroneous beliefs systems, heal our pasts and move into ways of being where we are deeply caring for ourselves/one another, living sustainably and in communion with all.   Essentially, it’s shifting humanity into a vibration of peace, love, unity, cooperation, acceptance and appreciation for all of life.  When we truly get that our thoughts create our experience of life, managing our mind can become one of the most important tasks of our day.  As Wayne Dyer says, “once we realize that our thoughts are creating our reality, we get really careful about what we are thinking about.” 20 minutes in the morning upon rising and ideally, another 20 minutes before bed can be a powerful way to create an Ark that will carry you peacefully through turbulent times and send beautiful waves of peace, love and harmony throughout this sea of global change.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by myself or many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” – Buddha

Namaste.
